PearFiction Studios is looking for an experienced IT Manager to join our team and manage our office IT, Systems, and Network infrastructure. This role will involve working directly with the CEO, providing an escalation point for all enquiries that will range from general employee IT enquiries and support to more specific support of the game development team tools and live operations.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Manage the daily running of the IT hardware and software
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with desktop/laptop hardware and software, printers, and peripheral equipment remotely as well as local
  • Configure PCs and Laptops for deployment to users within the office and for remote work
  • Track issues to resolution and update an internal knowledge base
  • Escalate issues as and when required
  • Manage and develop all IT procedures, policies and standards to improve quality and efficiency
  • Protect against access, modification, and destruction of data/assets
  • Configure, support and upgrade security tools such as firewall, anti-virus, patch management, IDS / IPS etc.
  • Implement network security, application security, access control and corporate data backup policies
  • Monitor network traffic and prevent security breaches
  • Maintain and audit internal and external security policies
  • Train and sensitize employees in terms of security and procedures
  • Monitor network security and ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of the company’s data and servers
  • Maintain system uptime 24x7x365
  • Develop and Maintain enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Be mindful of and committed to the long term corporate vision and objectives and technological tools that can help the development of our games
  • Assist in the evaluation of new hardware, software, and related peripherals
  • Asset management
  • Build and maintain relationships with third party suppliers
  • Implement IT systems, strategic and operational plans and ensure that current and future IT needs are met
  • Assist the development team with R&D regarding software and new technologies prior to their use
  • Research, use, and study new OS, devices, and software to stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends
  • Available to work a flexible, full-time 40 hour / week schedule and on-call
  • Perform other tasks as required

Essential experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering Business with IT background or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in software development and IT system management, MS Windows environment, Mac OS, IOS, ANDROID, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, System Security, and disaster recovery
  • Certification of professional security management, CISSP, CISM, CISA or other similar credentials, desired
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of MS 365, MS Azure and security best practices
  • Knowledge of software development standards and best practices
  • Familiarity with version control (Git). Proficient in using and supporting Source Control tools (Git preferred)
  • Understanding of best practices and administration of Active Directory, PFSense, and JIRA/Confluence
  • Familiarity with Google, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative products
  • Strong, proactive problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent time-management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong documentation skills

Desirable experience: 

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations in the IT industry
  • Experience with web application deployment and frameworks
  • Genuinely wants to do a good job as a matter of pride in one’s work
  • Keen to learn and demonstrate ability
  • Good understanding of casino games, video slot games, and real money gaming compliance and requirements
  • Bilingual (French and English) is an asset

We will give preference to candidates with experience in the field of information technology at a game development studio.
